Angry Nigerian Housewife In New Jersey Calls In Fake Bomb Threat To Stop Husband’s Christmas Trip To Nigeria

Okezie and Eunice Ukaegbu

Police first arrived at the couple’s Union, NJ,home to question Eunice. Federal agents, who feared her husband may be a terrorist, were in tow.

The couple’s daughter overheard the ordeal, then called her father on his cellphone to tip him off that cops would be meeting him at the airport with an order to arrest.

Okieze arrived at the airport in a black Lexus and wearing tan pants.

“I went through his suitcase — and I panicked,” Eunice told the credulous cops. “I did what an honest citizen would do,” she sniffed.

Port Authority police and other law-enforcement agencies also rushed to find Okieze, who was stopping off in Paris before connecting to Lagos, Nigeria. Okieze stayed told cops that his wife “had an alcohol problem” and was lying, authorities said.

Okieze, who had already passed security, was taken into custody at Gate B45 at around 12:15 p.m., authorities said. His luggage was removed from the aircraft, and searched by bomb-sniffing dogs. He was taken away for questioning and missed his flight. He has reportedly been released from custody and police said they now plan to charge his wife.

Okieze continued his trip on a different flight and could not be reached for comment.
