Ashimolowo donates clothes, money to Osun widows

 Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo yesterday donated clothes and other household items worth millions of Naira to no fewer than 2,000 widows spread across Osun state.  The widows who went home with 10 yards of clothes, food stuffs and money were drawn from Ode Omu, home town of the cleric and Modakeke, headquarters of Ife East Area office of the state.

At the event held at the site of the proposed King’s University, Ode Omu, Christian leaders from across the country, including Bishop Mike Bamidele of The Victory Chapel International eulogized the gesture of Pastor Ashimolowo, describing him as a generous leader.  The state Deputy Governor, Mrs Grace Tomori who was represented by a Special Adviser to the Governor, Dr Yinusa urged well meaning individuals in the society to emulate the life of Pastor Ashimolowo and give generously to the less privileged in the society.

In his remarks, Ashimolowo noted that the presentation of items to widows in his hometown was an annual programme of a foundation he organized to cater for the needs of the less privileged in the society.  He said his dream was to see a society free of poverty, lack and wants, hence his determination to give willingly to the poor.

He assured that he would continue to contribute his quota to the development of his hometown and the nation at large, stressing that “it’s the wish of God that every man prospers in life; I shall therefore ensure that all the resources that God gives to me are used to raise others.”
